Forgive Me Father

Forgive me Father for I have sinned
But have made it through another day
And through my actions the end result
Is me, here, kneeling to pray
I ask forgiveness Father
For I may sin tomorrow
I believe in insuring my survival
But believe me Father, I feel sorrow
Forgive me Father for I have sinned
To be sure I have food on the table
Tho it may not be the most selfless path
I must do as I am able
I come seeking your forgiveness Father
But I wish my suffering to end
I know it is not yet my time
As I fall asleep with rosary in hand
I ask your understanding Father
For the road on which I've wandered away
The righteous lay, with good intentions pave
While trying to keep the Devil at bay
Please don't lose Faith, Father
Don't be fooled into thinking I'm so cold
Tho I may steal away in dead of night
I have not left the fold
